ABOUT US

Rabideau Architects was founded in 1992 to serve the needs of Builders, developers, and other professionals who are looking to build and maintain a portfolio of real estate. Over the years our partners in the building industry have engaged us in the design of a variety of military, government, and healthcare facilities; our core competencies are in the areas of multiple family dwellings, mixed use community master planning, hotels, and commercial real estate.

Rabideau Architects has completed over 378 projects worth almost two billion dollars. We accept ten to fifteen commissions a year. A typical project is in the five to ten million-dollar construction cost range. We provide services in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Northern New York. We are proud of the relationships we have built with our clients, some spanning decades and encompassing many projects.

THE PROCESS

We are expert in multi-family housing, hotel design, large-scale wood framed construction, complex multi-phase master planning and design, and structured parking. Our outstanding skills include virtual modeling and 3D representation, project representation and permitting, and energy modeling.

OUR TEAM

Gregory Rabideau | CEO – Principle Architect

Greg loves solving complicated puzzles. Difficult programs, challenging sites, or sometimes a skeptical public can get in the way of a good project. Solving those problems and removing those obstacles is his idea of fun. You will not find anyone better at representing your project before official boards and overcoming restive neighbors.

Greg is passionate about the process of building, and has forged a great deal of respect in the builder community by staying open to ideas and keeping well informed about changes in law and technology. Most of all, he enjoys sharing the creative process with our clients, and the friendships that grow out of that shared effort.

Greg’s contributions to the team are in the area of Design, Master Planning, Site Design, Real Estate Finance, Permitting, and Construction Phase Services. Greg is licensed in Vermont, New York, and New Hampshire.

Allen Spencer | Registered Architect

Allen joined the firm twenty-nine years ago, he has never stopped improving. He routinely invests his own time in learning each new wave of technology and software. Allen produces the incredible rendered images we use to explain and promote our client’s proposals. Allen is a talented detailer and is an excellent resource on energy code compliance. Allen has tackled the working drawings on some of our biggest and most complicated projects, like Homewood Suites in South Burlington, VT, and the Fairfield Inn, Waterbury, VT.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

We don’t think of design as something we do for clients, but rather as something we do with our clients. It is a collaborative process we call co-creation and it informs all that we do. You have a vision, and we have a unique set of skills to help you realize that goal. We don’t let our egos get in the way.

Our portfolio is as diverse as our client base, with our projects ranging from traditional to modern. However, we strive always for a look that is timeless, and avoiding trendiness.
